[왓처데일리] 2년 만에 다시 아시아에서 개최된 ‘iSAMS 2016’이 성공적으로 마무리 됐다.

약침을 중심으로 한의학의 새로운 패러다임을 주도하고 있는 국제약침학술대회 ‘iSAMS’는 올해 홍콩의 홍콩대학(The University of Hong Kong)에서 ‘침술(Acupuncture): 건강과 웰빙 (health and wellbeing)’을 주제로 개최됐다.

이번 ‘iSAMS 2016’에는 전 세계 11개국 24명의 석학들이 참가해 3일 간 약침 등 한국 한의학의 실제적인 사용과 연구에 대한 다양한 논문을 발표했다.

대회 1일차인 지난 19일 ‘Current Status of Clinical Research on Acupuncture’와 ‘Oral Abstract Presentations’을 통해 침술과 관련한 여러 가지 연구 결과가 발표된 ‘iSAMS 2016’은 3일차인 20일, 세 번째 세션인 ‘Current Status of Basic Science Research on Acupuncture’를 테마로 열띤 발표를 이어갔다.

먼저 University of California의 John Longhurst 교수가 ‘Basic Science Underlying Acupuncture’s Cardiovascular Actions: Emphasis on Hypertension‘을 주제로 발표했다. 이어 Takahiro Takano 박사가 ’The Role of Adenosine Receptors in Long-Term Suppression of Chronic Osteoarthritis Pain by Acupuncture Therapy‘에 대해 발표했다.

또한 대만 China Medical University Yi-Wen Lin 교수가 'Mechanisms of Acupuncture Analgesia in Mice', 미국 Harvard University Vitaly Napadow 박사가 ‘Evaluating Acupuncture-associated Neuroplasticity in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with Brain Imaging’, 중국 Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine의 Bingmei Zhu 교수가 ‘Mechanistic Study of Acupuncture through High-throughput Sequencing Technology’를 주제로 발표했다,

이어 Zhao-xiang BIAN 교수와 Jun MAO 박사를 좌장으로 ‘Challenges in Acupuncture Research’를 테마로 한 네 번째 세션이 계속됐다.

가장 먼저 호주 RMIT University의 Charlie Xue 교수가 ‘Acupuncture for Menopausal Hot Flashes: A Randomized Trial’를 주제로 발표했으며 이어 중국 China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences의 Baoyan Liu 교수가 ‘Acupuncture for Menopausal Hot Flashes:  A Randomized Trial’에 대해, 원광대학교 광주한방병원 김성철 교수가 ‘How to Approach to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis with Acupuncture, Phamacopuncture and Herbal Drug?’에 대해 발표했다.

또한 독일 University of Munich의 Dominik IRNICH 박사가 ‘Acupuncture and Myofascial Triggerpoints-Evidence and Shortcomings in Research and Clinical Trials’에 대해 발표했으며 China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences의 Jingsheng ZHAO 교수가 ‘Points and Meridians: Origin to Evolutional Perceptions and Practice’에 대해, The University of Hong Kong의  Lixing LAO 교수가 ‘When East meets West’를 주제로 발표했다.

네 번째 세션을 끝으로 모든 주제 발표를 마친 ‘iSAMS 2016’은 차기 ‘iSAMS 2018’에 대한 안내, Poster Awards Presentation Ceremony 등을 끝으로 공식 폐막됐다.

‘iSAMS 2016’을 성공적으로 마무리 한 대한약침학회 관계자는 “올해로 12회를 맞은 ‘iSAMS’는 이제 한의학 기반의 국제학술대회로서 한국을 대표하는 학술대회로 거듭나고 있다”며 “향후에도 저명한 학자들과의 교류를 통해 약침과 한약 및 한의학에 대한 우수성을 널리 알려 나갈 것”이라고 소감을 밝혔다.

한편 차기 ‘iSAMS’는 오는 2018년 독일의 University of Munich에서 개최된다.
