Mountain Ginseng Pharmacopuncture (MGP) is an extract distilled from either mountain cultivated ginseng or mountain wild ginseng (Mountain Ginseng).

Constituent analysis with GC (gas chromatograpy) or GC-MS shows containment of aromatic substances with low molecular weight between 50-210. These are assumed to be sesquiterpene compounds with 10-15 carbons such as panecene and beta-Elemene, and flavonoids like quercetin, hesperidin, and anthocyanidin. These constituents are reported to have actions of anti-cancer, anti-oxidation, and suppression of cancer cell metastasis. These actions are likely to be even more potent for mountain ginseng.

Clinical trials of MGP on terminal stage cancer patients are undergoing in the past few years. In a case of primary Liver cancer metastasized to lung, after 6 months of MGP lead to complete disappearance of tumor in both liver and lung. In one case report, treating squamous cell lung cancer which is a type of non-small cell lung cancer with 6 months of MGP procedure stopped the growth of cancer cells, but the condition exacerbated when injection was done on acupoints on the abdomen.
